If Barnes & Noble sells it, you can buy it through this app

Barnes & Noble Bookstore have just one purpose—to get you to buy their stuff.

Shopping for books, music, and DVDs from your iPhone couldn’t get any easier.  Upon opening the Barnes & Noble Bookstore, you’re presented with a navigation list:  Bestsellers, New Releases, B&N Recommends and B&N Review.  Tap on any of these to see lists of books organized in these different ways.

At the top of the main screen are book covers that may be tapped to be taken to a page describing (and selling) that book. You can swipe through several pages of book covers, DVDs and CDs.

The search feature is pretty sweet. Snap a shot of a book cover, a CD or a DVD, and the Barnes & Noble Bookstore will search the store for that item. Conventional searching by author name or book title is also possible.

You can search for Barnes & Noble bookstore locations, and then there’s the Shopping Cart (this is a retail app, after all).

The individual book, DVD or CD pages list the book prices (list, Online Price, and Online Member Price—you have to create an account at Barnes & Noble to get the lowest of the three), and list an overview and customer reviews.  For books, there is also an About the Author section that lists interviews and biographical notes.

A “Share this Product” button allows you to e-mail a link to the book in the Barnes & Noble Bookstore to a friend.
