Clear Vision 4 – Sniping People In The Head Until They Die

Clear Vision 4 is the latest in the Clear Vision series, a long line of stick figure sniper games that allows you to experience military level sniping, without any of the unpleasantness of shooting real people. No one actually cares about stick figures.

You are Tyler, an old hat at this whole sniping people in the head until they die thing. It looks like there are some new contracts up for grabs, just begging for you to… take care of them.

Clear Vision 4 understands completely that it can’t be too serious – shooting anthropomorphic stick figures in the face over long distances while they drink coffee or paint pictures isn’t exactly the most sombre material out there.

It understands that it needs to be silly, and silly is something it does very well.[sc name=”quote” text=”It understands that it needs to be silly, and silly is something it does very well.”]

If you’re really, truly terrible, you can reload your gun and try again if you somehow miss. Most of the time, they don’t really seem to notice being nearly killed, but it doesn’t really matter because, honestly, if you miss, you should probably just put the phone down and walk away.

Every target is usually in the midst of doing something mundane or ordinary, but will usually cycle between a series of actions, sometimes farcical or sometimes just boring. You get to pick the precise moment you shoot them, either for the most dramatic and interesting reaction, or just because it seemed funniest.

The best part is the crazy reaction they have to being shot. Some just slump over, but others will crash over their computers, destroying their keyboard and flinging their chair backwards.

The gameplay is… well, it’s a sniper game. You move the sight across the target’s area until you line up the shot, fiddle with the zoom a little bit and then shoot them.

A sniper’s life clearly isn’t for you.

The mix of simplistic gameplay and web comic-level stick figure art might seem silly, but when combined with the zany and farcical nature of the comedy inherent in shooting stick figure people in the face, it’s surprisingly fun.[sc name=”quote” text=”… but when combined with the zany and farcical nature of the comedy inherent in shooting stick figure people in the face, it’s surprisingly fun.”]

You’ll really enjoy yourself just shooting away at the targets, taking new jobs as they come up and buying new upgrades for your gun that are largely unnecessary. It’s all part of the fun!

Clear Vision 4 is a game with a very clear understanding of what it needs to be, as well as what it isn’t. It’s not a wonderful game laced with quality gameplay and twists and turns – it’s a fun little sniper gallery with interesting stick figure interactions and some purchasable upgradeables.

You might not find yourself playing it for an overly long time, but it’s absolutely fun while there are still targets needing to be shot.

[review pros=”Clear and consistently funny and quirky visual medium. A humor style perfectly suited to the gameplay and art.” cons=”The repetitive gameplay could certainly get boring after a few hours.” score=9]
