There are definitely some perverts in the world, so if you download the free Dailymotion app you might want to be prepared. For instance, a video of a mostly naked girl rubbing her bodacious belly on an exercise ball and a montage of women’s nylon clad feet are not exactly what I call entertainment.
However, the super cute video entries for Steve Martin’s dog music video contest were right up my alley. Martin asked fans on Dailymotion to create a video for his song “Wally on the run” and the winner received $1,000. That’s a quick way to set viewers in motion! And, video makers can upload their videos straight from the app.
The app itself is a steal since it offers hours of entertainment at the grand old price of free! The one design element I would like to see changed is the selection bar under the browse section. It doesn’t stay at the top of the screen when you scroll through sample videos, so you have to scroll all the way back up to change your search options.
It’s a great place to find the latest viral hits and homemade videos that make you laugh until you spit milk out your nose---hey, now that would be a funny video. While the YouTube selection on the iPhone has a lot of the latest and greatest videos, Dailymotion tends to be more grassroots. Really, the nylon clad feet had me in stitches.
And, it’s a worldly app offered in eight languages. For $5.99 you can download an ad-free version, but don’t bother because I didn’t even notice the ads in the free app.
