New iPhone apps worth downloading: Unread - An RSS Reader, The Berenstain Bears' Dinosaur Dig, The Wolf Among Us update

Fans of Telltale Games' awesome point-and-click adventures will want to check out The Wolf Among Us, as Episode 2 has just dropped.

Unread – An RSS Reader ($2.99)

Unread - An RSS ReaderWhat’s it about? Keeping its look and interface simple, Unread allows users to quickly page through RSS feeds and read articles on their iOS devices.

What’s cool? RSS reader Unread brings a streamlined, easy to use interface and design to users, focusing on full-screen articles and quick updates in its content. The app lets users input their RSS feeds and makes them quickly scrollable, allowing you to find the articles that interest you from various sources, open them up and read them in full-screen mode. Unread updates your feeds in the background constantly, so you'll be able to switch between articles quickly and efficiently, and includes multiple themes to make reading at different times – like at night – easier on your eyes. You can also quickly share articles with others across social networks or send them to other apps, such as Pinboard and Instapaper. Unread also includes VoiceOver coverage for all its features, so it's still usable by people with visual impairments.

The Berenstain Bears' Dinosaur Dig ($2.99)

The Berenstain Bears' Dinosaur DigWhat’s it about? Interactive storybook The Berenstain Bears' Dinosaur Dig takes the eponymous bears to the Bearsonian museum to learn about dinosaurs and experience an actual dinosaur dig.

What’s cool? It seems like lots of kids go through a phase in which they're fascinated by dinosaurs, and the same has happened to Sister Bear and Brother Bear in The Berenstain Bears' Dinosaur Dig. Like the other Berenstain Bears storybook apps, Dinosaur Dig is an interactive experience that lets kids follow along with the story, with highlighted narration and the ability for parents to record their own reading of the story. The app also encourages learning new vocabulary with lots of dinosaur words, all of which can be heard aloud by tapping them.

Who’s it for? The Berenstain Bears' Dinosaur Dig is aimed at kids ages 4 through 8, and parents will find it useful for helping their kids as they're learning to read.

The Wolf Among Us update ($4.99)

The Wolf Among UsWhat’s it about? Telltale Games' latest comic-based adventure game, The Wolf Among Us, takes players into the world strange, gritty, dangerous world of fairytale creatures exiled to New York City to live as humans.

What’s cool? Developer Telltale Games has been creating great point-and-click adventure titles for mobile devices for a while now, but it really sprang to prominence with 2012's The Walking Dead. Following that success comes The Wolf Among Us, a game based on the comic “Fables” and just as littered with tough choices, violence and intensity as The Walking Dead. The Wolf Among us follows Bigby Wolf, once known as the Big Bad Wolf, as he works to solve the mystery of a serial killer among the fables by interrogating various people, gathering clues, and getting into the occasional bar fight or two. The second of five episodes of The Wolf Among Us is now available, and you can get each episode for $4.99 or download the complete series as they become available for $14.99.
