Today we start with Dropbox, the cloud storage service, which added more capabilities for uploading and viewing mobile photos. Also, two new games deserve your attention: Middle Manager of Justice from fan favorite developer Double Fine, and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, a rhythm game based on the extremely popular Final Fantasy role-playing series.
Dropbox update (Free)
What’s it about? Cloud storage utility Dropbox’s essential new update to its iOS app adds special features specifically geared toward the storage and sharing of photos.
What’s cool? One of the neater features about Dropbox for mobile devices is that the app can automatically send any photos you snap with your iPhone or iPad to the cloud, storing them in your Dropbox folder and allowing you to keep your device’s hard drive cleaner. The new update to Dropbox not only introduces a new user interface, it also adds new features to view all your photos in the order you uploaded them. Apart from that, Dropbox is great for sharing documents and other files with other users, and lets you access anything saved to your cloud storage from iOS devices.
Who’s it for? Those who want to stay connected, share documents, and store loads of photos should make Dropbox their go-to app.
Middle Manager of Justice (Free)
What’s it about? The latest title from Double Fine, the creators of such greats as Full Throttle on PC, Middle Manager of Justice has players managing superheroes for fun and profit.
What’s cool? Cartoon style graphics and lots of humor make Middle Manager of Justice one of the more fun management titles out there. Players step into the role of the manager and they must maintain superhero morale, send them to fight crime, and keep the business profitable. The game balances some of the more menial stuff, like the hiring and care of superheroes, with chances to do some actual role-playing game fighting with your heroes. The more you train them, the more powerful they become, and the more evil you’ll get to bash into submission for the benefit of your superhero office.
Who’s it for? Fans of Double Fine and humorous titles, as well as management simulators, will find a lot to like here.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy (Free)
What’s it about? Square Enix’s Theatrhythm Final Fantasy combines Final Fantasy tropes and characters with rhythm-tapping gameplay.
What’s cool? Theatrhythm is filled with music from the beloved Final Fantasy role-playing game series, and it combines rhythm gameplay with RPG elements. There are two kinds of songs you’ll play through – battle and field – and you’ll pick characters to venture through the melodies to earn experience points and more. When you play a battle song, you need to pick strong fighters to take down enemies, and when you play field songs, you need to send characters that are fast and agile. It’s an interesting take on rhythm titles and adds a lot of strategy to the mix. Just note that only two songs are included free with the game; the rest you’ll have to buy through in-app purchases.
Who’s it for? Both Final Fantasy and RPG fans, as well as rhythm game fans, will find something to like here.
