AT&T CEO Stephenson: We were wrong about unlimited iPhone data There are still at least a couple aspects of the AT&T iPhone deal sealed more than five years ago that tick off AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson.
“My only regret was how we introduced pricing in the beginning, because how did we introduce pricing? Thirty dollars and you get all you can eat,” said Stephenson, during an interview at the Milken Institute earlier this week. “And it’s a variable cost model. Every additional megabyte you use in this network, I have to invest capital.”
Overall, Stephenson said he didn’t regret the iPhone deal and the possibility to “make history” with Steve Jobs.
“The answer to the question was, you’re investing in Steve Jobs. Let’s go after this thing. And we went after it, and the rest is history.”
