Skout Review

Skout boats over 2 million members so there's a good amount of variety and they seem to be growing quite fast. The Android application is easy to navigate and some nice features available as well. Look forward to more.

This app is kind of cool in the sense that you can chat with local singles from afar or within your area. It usually lets you know how far away someone is if they have their GPS locator on. I've had a lot of problems with it crashing, I'll usually get a badge telling me I have 1 or 2 messages, when in fact I have none. Also, if you're a girl, some of the guys on here are pervs, but I suppose there will always be some pervs in any chat/dating site.

In a nutshell this app is Grindr, but for the straight set. In theory this app should work. In reality it is filled with some of the most vile, icky, meatheaded, ugly, weirdos within a several mile radius of you. Let's just take a sampling of some of the messages I've received on Skout:
-Asking me to paint his username on my body so he could use the picture of it as his avatar
-dick pictures
-asking if the drapes match the carpet.
This app is a greta idea, but the audience it has attracted is definitely not a fair sampling of the general population. Perhaps these apps really are better left to the gays who seem to have found more use in them.

Skout Dating

This app is a lot like Match, except I think Match is better. It's supposed to work based on your location and suggest the people who are within close proximity. It fails miserably at this. Also, to get all of the features you have to $ign up/join. Oh and most of the people's user names are ridiculous.Match is better.
