Wikipedia works through Mobile Safari, but Wikipanion makes it an even better experience for the iPhone by optimizing the UI and expanding the search function. Settle bar bets at a moment's notice with this one.

Just a great source of reference!!!

Not really a lot that one can say about this app, other than it gives you immediate access to Wikipedia, which as we all know is a great source of reference for just about EVERYTHING!!!

If I'm not mistaken, I think there are a few apps designed with the goal to make navigating Wikipedia via mobile device easier. This one is just as good as any other in terms of search capability. Eventually, I will do a list of all of the "wikipanions" and point out the pro's and cons of each. For now, I would say stick with the mobile version of Wikipedia (Wikipedia Mobile) and if that doesn't do it for you, try Wikipanion. If anyone has a favorite "wikipanion," please let me know. I'm always interested.

Love this app. For me (I'm using an iPhone 3G), it's much faster to search Wikipedia with this app than via the mobile web. Great app to find subject matter information quickly.

It's like having Google at your fingertips, only better.

I used it most recently when my parents came out from the Midwest to visit me in my new home of Boulder, Colorado. We drove up to Rocky Mountain National Park, into Estes Park and started wondering all of these things about The Continental Divide, the history of the area, the population of the cities we were driving in and through, etc.

What better way to answer those questions than through wikipedia, and having the app on my phone made for an interesting and educational little road trip!

For those of us that are naturally curious and always learning - this app is a MUST HAVE.

I have used this more and more lately, as I find the articles formatted easier to read than in Safari- which is what I normally used. It's Wikipedia of course, so the data is great!
