Up until now I had a favorite app for finding things around me called, obviously enough, aroundme. I'm not sure that where will take it's place but it does have some better features than around me that may cause me to keep it.

Unlike around me, where has ratings for the things it's suggesting. in the past when using aroundme I'd always have to cross reference with Yelp for any type of decent dinner. There are times when you just don't care or don't have enough options to bother with a rating but much of the time you do want to know, of the choices shown, which is worthy of your time and money. This is where Where wins. I should add that the interface is considerably better visually than aroundme.

All this said there's at least one way that aroundme wins. Pharmacies, groceries, and other necessities are all missing from where. Sure, it's great that it tells me where to drink and eat but let's face it, sometimes I really need a supermarket.

If where adds these type of options it might take over from aroundme but until that time it will likely not be my go to app for finding things around me quickly.
