I tend to test wifi hotspots around either my house or work. Each location has a somewhat hidden free wifi hotspot that all but the best apps will miss. By hidden I don't mean hard to find, down some dark alley. No, no. One is on a major highway but it's at a little corner grocery and likely something an app like this might miss. The other is a great nonprofit coffee shop here in Seattle that's an obvious choice for wifi but not a big chain and thus often skipped by these types of apps. Sadly this app does indeed skip these locations.

It does do a wonderful job of showing you a map with locations but with so many hotspots missing this is hardly my favorite choice for a wifi finder app. Sure, you can let the app know they've missed a location, but doing so opens an email rather than filling in some of this information in app. This means you'd have to list address information along with everything else... stuff that could be done easily if it were integrated into the app itself. In the end this one just has a few too many missing pieces to qualify as the best of the free wifi finding apps.
