I really wanted to love this app. The layout is good and the map it shows you is pretty but that's about where this ends.
So why is it funny bad? Well first because it doesn't appear to use the built in compass to determine direction upon starting out. My directions this evening included making two successive U Turns until I was finally going the right way which was, of course, the original direction.
OK, I could forgive that. The app is also very slow in the "turn here" functionality. Often, thanks to paying attention, I'd already turned someplace long before "here" was announced by the app. OK, I can forgive that too.
The thing I simply can't forgive is that the "turn in 800 feet" isn't accompanied by "at Dexter Avenue" or ANYTHING to tell you what street. If you're driving in the city this is a huge problem. I don't know where 800 feet is and certainly with city blocks that range in size I likely couldn't accurately guess with consistency. Add to that late turn here instructions and you're basically driving blind.
The app at least made me laugh this evening when I tested it. In fact it made my friends laugh too. About 1 hour after arriving at my destination the app finally did, interrupting our dinner conversation to make sure I knew that I'd finally arrived at my destination. Yeah, thanks!
PS, add street names into the where I turn and I'll forgive all other problems.
