The concept here is great but i think the developers are tryign to do too much. The app promises to give comparisons and in my tests they were totally wrong. Great idea, execution needs work
I recently switched from Android to the iPhone 4 and Shop Savvy was one of the first apps that I needed to compare. All I can say is wow!! I already knew the Shop Savvy was a great app, but on the iPhone is lightning fast, miles ahead of Android.
For those not familiar with the app, it's simple. See a product, scan it, let Shop Savvy compare the prices of that product online and at local stores. I have tried this time and time again and saved 20, 30, 40% and more on retail items.
Just a great app all around!
I was looking for a decent shopping app, and unfortunately this one isn't very effective. It's not accurate on barcode scanning, and can't find a product half the time, or the result will be a wrong product. At least it's free...
So I am a little biased, but I would argue that ShopSavvy is the best barcode scanner on the market - not for its scanning ability, but for its ability to provide local and online pricing. The coverage is amazing - more than 20,000 retailers at last count. Of course the app is free so try it for yourself.
