APPOLICIOUS ADVISOR RATING:

4 of 5 bars
  • PRICE: Free
  • TASTY: This app includes pictures of the league's leaders, making it easier to recognize them next time you watch a game.
  • BUMMER: It would be cool if the app included stats on all the players in the league, but that’s a pretty tall order.
  • COOL: In addition to showing what games are on the night of, the app tells you if the opposing teams have played each other yet this season.

If you’re already a WNBA fan, or if you’d like to be but you don’t know where to begin, download the free WNBA Center Court iPhone app. Start off by seeing what games are happening on the day you’re checking, on what channel you can watch them, and at what time. At 7 p.m., you can catch the Phoenix Mercury vs. Tulsa Shock. Maybe they’ll even finish up in time for the Washington Mystics vs. Seattle Storm at 10 p.m.

Next, you can look up each of the 12 WNBA teams and find out which club leads the pack in points, rebounds, assists, and more; and in each category, where they rank in the league. Find out who the league leader is in each of these same categories and then, on top of that, who the league’s Top Ten performers are. Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks takes the lead in rebounds per game, while Alison Bales of the Atlanta Dream comes in fifth for blocks per game.

Once you know where the players rank, find out where the teams rank by viewing the Western Conference and Eastern Conference standings. Seattle takes the cake in the West, and Atlanta comes up on top in the East, but that can change at any moment. Use the WNBA Center Court app to keep track of the teams and players, and to find out about the next game to see things change.
