Sometimes it’s just a long wait at the doctor’s office or a snow day off school, parents need help entertaining their children. If your kids start to annoy you when they are bored, hand them your iPhone loaded with this list of great time-wasting iPhone apps for kids that are 12 or younger.

Don’t Let the Pigeon Run this App! ($1.99)

Pigeons are funny. We are not really sure why, but it might have something to do with the way they walk and eat garbage. The adorably fun iPhone app, Don’t Let the Pigeon Run this App!, allows children to make silly stories with the shake of your iPhone. It’s an interactive app with a learning component that is too cute to pass up. Kids of all ages will get a kick out of this storytelling app.

FingerFace ($0.99)

Finger puppets are so yesterday. Your kids will have hours of fun dressing up photos of their own fingers with hair, lips, eyes, and more. The FingerFace iPhone app will occupy tons of time in the car while traveling. Have your children create a finger photo of what your family is going to look like on vacation. You can even share photos via Instagram and other social networks. Grandma will get a kick out of a finger photo text, for sure.

Tongue Tied! ($0.99)

With 80 levels and 33 challenges it will take your rug-rats a while to bust through the Tongue Tied! app for iPhone. The game follows two adorable dogs, Mike and Ralph, with huge tongues as they search for the elusive “Wonderbone.” It’s a game of physics, as the dogs have to hang and swing through the obstacles they face throughout their journey.

Who doesn’t love a good game of “Did you know?” while on a road trip? Plug your kids into the Weird But True iPhone app for some zany and smart kid-friendly facts. The educational Weird But True app keeps kids busy and adults entertained at the same time.

Your kids are begging to play with your iPhone, so why not give them something educational to play? The Math Bingo app for iPhone is a savvy place to start. Everybody loves a good rousing game of bingo and this app adds in a little math fun to keep it interesting and education for children. Plus, you can create different profiles for each child, which saves parents from some annoying fights.
