Good idea, good execution, but...

Yelp can be great for finding new places to eat but it is also a bit spazzy. You'll never know if the people who are doing reviews have the same tastes as you do. Not usually a problem when you're talking about 100's of reviews for a single place, the majority is usually right. But what about when there's only one review. Do you trust that person? Hard to say. This is where Forkly comes in.
As another reviewer said, it's a bit like foodspotting because it encourages photos in a way Yelp just doesn't. It encourages social connections, making it easy to add friends in a way Yelp doesn't and it allows you to add specific food items instead of just reviewing the place as a whole.
That said, like every other social app it's value is in it's community and right now that community is small. The first problem is it connects via twitter (rather than Facebook) a tech savvy crowd for sure but a smaller crowd. For me this means the only two friends listed are not in my city. Not very useful unless I travel to their town.
Will this be a great app? Only time and the larger app community will tell.
