iPhone and iPad App User Reviews

Kids favourite

The boys I look after love this. The 5 year old spells the words putting the letters in order. The 2 year old places the letters at random but does this quickly, and loves guessing the word from the picture beforehand

As easy as one two three BUMP.
Select media to share, bump the phones together and hey presto, info swapped.
The ideal way to share photos between phones

This is the best app for getting notifications from Twitter and Facebook whenever someone comments, sends me a message, etc

Who needs a diary

I use my calendar all the time on my iphone, but this is a great way of being reminded about birthdays not only of my family/friends but my online friends too.
I love the fact I don't even need to open the app, it lets me know by looking at it that I have some birthdays that day

My favorite todo/GTD app....so far

Coming from the world of Blackberry, I had once taken for granted the ease with which I tracked my todo lists and synched them to various places (MS Exchange!). This app allows you to follow the GTD methodology or most other that I've run across. It's fast and the UI is intuitive and pleasing to the eye. For now, I sync to ToodleDo as a backup and look forward to being able to seemlessy sync to my Exchange accounts.

enTrain in the Brain

This app works on the concept that the low-level frequency of our brain waves, if played into the ears, can "convince" the brain to mimic the associated state of concious. I use it when I meditate, before I work out and when I need to shake out the cobwebs at the office. Controls could be easier to use and I would love more options for background sounds.

Found a lot of great stuff here, but the $1.99 price tag is a little much for lots of these comics.

Perfectly fine

Easy to get documents on the iPhone, easy to access and manipulate. Doesn't save your place whenyou leave or answer a call, relies on placed bookmarks. That's a big flaw.

Fine, but...

Updates and changes slowly, sometimes taking a couple of days to recoginize a new app.

Been playing this for at least 20 hours

...and I'm only 80% done. Like the old school Final Fantasy - rich game with lots of side quests.

Civ: best game ever.

Only problem? It causes iPhone to forget what music it's played since the last update. That stinks.

I use this instead of iPhones podcast client

Will be one of the apps that I have running in the background as soon as it's enabled. I follow 16 podcasts, and this is better than iTunes for podcasts. Crashes a little too much, and it doesn't like m4a-rich podcasts.

My own restaurant guide!

Nice little app that's neither a list or directory. As a Foodie, it's a personal file of restaurants I've found and visited. Call for reserv. right from the app. Keeps the names of nice bartenders and servers to ask for later. Emails the info to friends, if someone asks for suggestions where to eat out. The kind of app I might keep forever plus I got rid of stacks of biz cards!
