Tap fish is amazing

Tap fish is my favorite app of all time. Forget my curated list, Tap fish beats any app in the app store. Tap fish is a freemium but you can beat the game without paying a penny. Use coins earned by feeding your fish, cleaning your tank and stuff like that to buy fish, new tanks, aquarium decorations and more. Use fish bucks to get super rare fish like my personal favorite the world cup fish (no longer available), food bricks for when your on vacation without your Iphone. Fish can die but you can bring them back to life with a fish buck. Remember fish die when they are not fed for two days. Download Tap fish now. Trust me I'm a level seven aquarium owner I know this stuff.

Simple and fun

A simple game that's great for killing time. Your character is a jumping doodle that's continuously trying to reach higher up the page. Your job is to steer him away from obstacles such as other doodle characters and pitfalls. You can pick up some helpers along the way such as rocket packs or propellers. Enjoy the ride.

Gingerbread Olympics!

Cool and fun game, made in a cartoon style, with a unique set of management and exciting missions. Excellent graphics, animation and game design in general, one can see how much effort has been invested in the creation of power applications. In the game, except for personal achievement is ranking among the total number of awards, everything in this Olympiad. You can always increase the speed or stamina of your character by buying it in the store a couple of things. His achievements can be shared with friends on social networks, and with them to take part in the race. So I advise everyone to take part in this competition and earn for my country several medals and cups.

Your virtual farm, now on your iPad

Facebook (FB) games are all the rage, none more so than Farmville, which was created by those capitalistic overlords of social gaming at Zynga.

If you’ve used FB even a little (and who hasn’t?) the chances are good that your News Feed is filled with FarmVille updates from your friends. Millions of people play the game everyday, planting and tending to their virtual crops, swapping gifts with others, and even chatting through the service.

And hovering above your sun drenched virtual fields, barns, and other do-dads are the Zynga developers, who this week launched an updated FarmVille FB app for your iPad.

The app itself may be perfectly free, but playing the game costs real money. And that means micro transactions to the tune of $4.99 to $49.99 to purchase in-game cash. This virtual green allows you to buy seeds, items, and gifts, and is generally a requirement to get the most out of FarmVille. And it goes without saying that your iPad must be connected to the Net at all times to play the game. (No offline farming for you!)

Add to this the central requirement of having an active FB profile just to open the game, and all but the FB faithful need not apply.

In fact, your first step once the app opens is to login to Facebook, and then watch as your iPad replicates your farm (or starts a new one) right on your multi-touch screen.

And that’s when things get interesting. Scrolling around your farm stutters at times, but is generally smooth and natural. The status update windows, which pop up when you harvest or plant items, seem crudely drawn. Pinching and zooming is also fairly clean, with some stuttering depending upon the size of your plots.

Clicking on your plots of land and other controls opens a series of menus that are far superior to their FB equivalents. Even receiving and sending gifts is a snap on the iPad, without forcing users to endure the multi-screened FB messaging system. A few finger presses and you’re done.

Push notifications help keep you in-the-know about your crops and other activities that need tending to every few minutes or hours. And, of course, the app makes it easy to post things to you and your friend’s FB pages to update everyone (who doesn’t know how to click Hide to stop the insanity) about your latest exploits.

After installing the app, I spent a fair amount of time visiting my FB friend’s farms, some so large the app crashed once or twice while I watched dozens (hundreds?) of individual, white “Loading” circles turn into grass, animals, barns, trees, corn stalks, and other assorted do-dads. (Really Mom, a dozen rainbow-colored cows? Acres and acres of corn that would make any ethanol producer blush? Plus a Farmer’s Insurance blimp floating above it all? It’s a crazy virtual mess in your world!)

This weeks updated version of the app offers graphical tweaks, a revised menu system to make it easier to get to certain tools and other resources, better support for all iDevices, and code enhancements to speed load times and reduce crashes.

These are welcome updates that will go a long way in keeping us addicted to FarmVille no matter where we may roam.

Watch Out Angry Birds!

A cute physics game that has the je ne sais quoi that iPhone owners love. Cut the rope to drop a candy into a frog's mouth. Catch a star on the way down, get extra points. Engaging illustrations and feature film-soundtrack-worthy sound.

I'm not a big game application user, but definitely appreciate the brainless distraction from time to time. Especially in a day and age we are becoming increasingly desensitized to violence, I am partial towards things that do not have guns, knifes, or fighting involved (Duck Hunt excluded!).

I'm also someone who likes to "figure things out" first, before reading the directions. Angry Birds was pretty intuitive, though good to know about the zoom in/out function starting out. (Pinch fingers together/apart to figure out what you're aiming at.)

There is a Lite version to try for free. Wouldn't say it's a must-have nor would I have paid more than .99 for it. But it is fun from time to time.

I still find myself preferring the web site over the app

The Appolicious app is great for search and discover but it falls down in a few places, most due to the iPads inability to multitask. If I'm curating a list I have to physically write down the app names. You can't jump out of the list curator piece to the iPad home screen to check the correct name of the app. So I end up curating lists from the web site rather than the app itself.

It would be great if you could select the apps in your library in batches and then write reviews of them or curate a list from the selection. There is too much back and forth. And please show not just download date but also reviewed date within your app library? With so many apps now out there, you can't tell what you reviewed previously, or what others did and what version (most important) they reviewed.

Also need to expand best used for... Category
Listing and split tech and social junkies, add teachers, video fans, number crunchers, magazine readers, bloggers, artists, etc.

Great app for search and discover, just needs some basic tweaks to make it great!

Highly Addictive

If you love scrabble, then you need words with friends. I'm pretty much addicted & have at least 5 games going at all times. The only issue I have is that it the app doesn't keep a record of your overall wins and losses. This is lame for 2 reasons... 1. If you start a game with a random opponent you have no way of knowing if they are a word master or a novice. 2. I'd just like to know my overall record - it's a fun part of the game to know if you're improving, or if you beat someone with a good record.

Besides that, this app is fantastic. If you want to start a game with me, my username is grits&gravy.

I compared 4 app review sites before settling here and may check out one more. It's always a battle when there's an app and a great mobile site and with appolicious I may actually prefer the mobile site. The apps submit button is always slow and it's difficult, if not impossible, to read profiles.

Need more people reviewing though! It's odd when a well known app like Pocket Informant only has two reviews.

Guess I'd also like a link to a person's app library and info before deciding to follow them. I'd like to write a review of an app I have, see another who wrote a review for the same app, and check his app library to see if he's a guy with similar taste in apps.

But once this gets rolling, I think it'll be a great place to get reviews of an app before making a big purchase.

Seconds from disaster!!!

This game is both fun and addicting. The goal is to land as many planes as possible without a crash but inevitably the further you go, the harder it gets. The great makers of this game continue to add improvements such as new layouts that are downloaded free with updates. A great app for the road warriors out there as it helps pass the time with delayed flights, etc. The kids love this one as well!

Do You Have The Power?

Finally you can play as the legendary He-Man! It's exciting, but the game is pretty basic. At least it only costs a buck.

Shouldn't be $2, sorry. However the game itself isn't all that bad. A decent obstacle-based game for fans of the show.

Fishy

Definitely a bit of a Tiny Wings feel here, but with a fishy theme and your little dude swims under water too.
