Yay! Redbox! With this app you can find the closest redbox and you can easily search their catalog of the latest movies. Not to mention there are always free redbox promo codes floating around the internet. If you don't know what redbox is; it's a red box that is usually located in a supermarket or similar type of store. You can rent DVD's for 99 cents and return them the next day.

Maybe it's just me but I don't get the appeal of the redbox app. Redbox is a regular detour on my way home but I haven't found much need for the app. I'm a very visual person so I don't like that you have to browse by movie name rather than images (like the actual redbox). Also, how useful is it to find nearest location after the 1st time. Unless you travel a lot (and get redbox on travels -random-) chances are you know where the nearest one is to you.

And I'm afraid to reserve a movie on the app because my paying clock starts then. What if I change my mind? Is there such a worry of your movie running out.

Like I said I think I just don't get it. Redbox can remain my friend but I'm deleting the very basic app.

Demise of video stores

Since the demise of video stores is almost complete I'm forced to use red box because my Internet speed is only 1.2 mbs and that is still too slow to wait for downloads. This app is helpful in locating movies at local boxes so I can drive my butt over to get what I need.
