Addicting!

This app is great! But, you'll definitely find yourself checking in to every single show you're watching so you can maximize your points. You'll also get angry with yourself when you realize you just watched an entire episode without checking in first! Also, it does take a long time to acquire the amount of points needed for any worthwhile prize. But, again, it's a great app to have if you're a couch potato!

Great concept... but practicality

This is a great tool and I would love to use it more often and rack up some points to redeem for great rewards. Unfortunately as a full-time student and worker, it's difficult to find time to not only watch television, but watch it live. Nowadays, with DVR and Netflix, all my shows I watch have already aired by the time I have the chance to watch them - in turn, defeating the purpose of this application since it requires you to check in to your shows as they air to get the most points. I see this being a problem unless they can figure out a way to work past this tricky situation!

So I don't watch A LOT of TV, but Viggle is pretty nifty. You can get giftcards from Starbucks and other places for watching TV. Sounds like a win-win.

This app is an awesome way to earn all sorts of rewards.. all you have to do is sit on your couch/recliner, relax, and watch tv... remembering to check in for each tv show you watch! It's amazing. All you do is point your phone towards your tv and it listens to your tv. Once it's determined what show you're watching, you click check in. There are times when it doesn't recognize something (usually a PBS show), but you can type in the name of the program, and it pops up.

Dissapointing

This app was a must have when it first came out. It was very easy to get points and also to redeem those points for great rewards. I definitely reaped the rewards of using this app in the past. Unfortunately, this app is no longer a must have. In the past, ads would appear constantly which made it very easy to get points while watching TV. That is no longer the case. The point values of the ads have dropped dramatically in just a short period of time. One ad use to be 100 points, and now it is only 10. Another ad went from 30 points, down to 15 points, down to 10 points, and now is worth 5 points. Another ad was 75 points, and now is 30 points. Ads that were worth 50 points are now worth 25 points. That is just the story about ads. So lets get into watching TV shows which is the main purpose of the app. Well, in the past, you used to get 2 points per minute per shows. That is no longer the case. Now you get 1 point per minute for watching TV shows. If you watch a show which lasts 60 minutes, you now get 60 points. You can easily watch a few ads and get 60 points in much less time. Its not really worth the effort to watch a show for 60 minutes, when ads can get you the same amount of points in a shorter amount of time. In addition to that, there used to be a maximum daily point allowance of 12,000 points. They have also cut that into half. With all these changes that have been made in order to slow down people from getting points, they have also increased the amount of points required to redeem gift cards. You can download and use this app if you want, but if you want to get something worthwhile, expect to use this app for 6 months or more. With all those changes which were done. I still haven't mentioned the bugs that the app has. Many times, ads and shows won't credit you. I have emailed the company in the past asking to get the points credited to my account only to get a generic email which didn't address my concern. So if you don't get credit, well, your out of luck. If you logged into a show or a game that lasts longer than an hour, well there goes a ton of points. I have been using this app for a long time. I used to be a big fan of this app and would have given it 10 stars in the past, but with the obvious attempt from maker, function(x), to stop users from accumulating points quickly and also raising redemption values, this app is no longer worth the trouble.

I guess it pays to be a couch potato. All you need to do is 'check-in' while watching a TV show and Viggle provides reward points that you can use toward various offers.
