Ditching meat and all animal products for a vegan diet is a difficult switch, but the 21-Day Vegan Kickstart app can you get through the most difficult weeks, while ensuring you get the appropriate nutrients.

The app provides three weeks' worth of menus: breakfast, lunch and dinner, so you don't have to stretch your brain coming up with meals. Day 1 includes apple cinnamon oatmeal for breakfast, couscous confetti salad and carrot and red pepper soup for lunch, and a Hoppin' John salad and Kwick kale for dinner. Don't know what a Hoppin' John salad is? Well, the app provides a list of all ingredients and necessary preparations.

The menus are surprisingly varied – there are items like cheesy popcorn, fruit smoothies, bean burritos and chocolate raspberry mouse. If one recipe hits your taste buds just right, you can bookmark it and repeat later.

You can search for a specific menu. And recipes can be viewed day by day or all at once. There are a few things missing from the app. First, there are no photos, and those always help get the stomach growling when it comes to cooking time. And there is no tips on how to keep yourself in control when you start craving a cheeseburger.
