A lot of game developers are slashing their prices for a short time, and we’ve got some games you should definitely check out while they’re at a reduced price. Read on and get the most game for your buck(s).
Zen Bound (iPhone) Free (was $1.99)
Developer Chillingo’s Zen Bound is one of the early iPhone games that really showed off the power of the device, and has received its share of critical acclaim for being so innovative. In celebration of the release of a full PC and Mac version of Zen Bound 2 (which you can already get on the iPhone and iPad), the iPhone original is available for free. You’ll want to go download that right now.
The puzzler has 76 levels in which your task is to use touch and tilt controls to wrap different objects with rope. You’re scored on your ability to use the rope efficiently, so it takes some brain power to think about how best to manipulate each object to reach your goal. If you haven’t had an opportunity to check out this relaxing puzzler, congratulations -- now’s your chance.
ChuChu Rocket! (iPhone) $2.99 (was $4.99)
SEGA designed this goofy puzzler back in the days of its Dreamcast video game console. Players guide ChuChus (mice) in their bid to avoid evil KapuKapus (orange cat-like sharp-toothed ChuChu eaters) and escape in a rocket.
It sounds weird, but the gameplay of ChuChu Rocket! gets pretty frantic, and the game features 145 levels, including all the the original Dreamcast title’s stages, reworked to function with the iPhone’s touch screen. The game also supports up to four players in its multiplayer mode.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 (iPhone) $6.99 (was $9.99)
Featuring Apple GameCenter compatibility, two specially-designed levels that function with the iPhone accelerometer, and four unique zones, Sonic 4 is a callback to the classic Sega games that fans will really appreciate. Best of all, it’s three bucks cheaper than usual -- time to catch Sonic before he makes it back to full price.
