How gore is gore?

The big surprise I had when I first played mini-gore was that it seems to have only a couple of maps to play with. I expected a reasonably developed campaign mode, started poking around the menus to find it, and didn't.

The 3D cartoons are awesome and the game is challenging, with a variety of characters to choose from.

While this title gets updated regularly, the gaming experience feels somehow incomplete - I would be much, much happier if aside from enjoying the shooting I could explore this pretty world and eventually get these guys out of harm's (or fun's) way.
