Classic adventure gaming, and very cheap for what it offers
Ages ago I played a game on the commodore 64 that was all words. You’re in a room with a door, a chest and a monkey. You gave the game simple commands and stuff happened. Cool stuff, unpredictable stuff, sometimes deadly stuff. It was a puzzle of the most awesome kind… the kind where you didn’t even know what the final picture looked like. In fact you didn’t know what the picture looked like at all as there wasn’t one.
This is the same idea but now with more pictures. You talk to people, you have options of what to say, you pick things up you might need later and you build a story. While not a game for those short on time it is something that will entertain you for quite a while without getting bored… there are simply too many options for that.
The best part of the game is that it exists completely on your phone, no connection required, thus when you’re flying on some antiquated airline with no tv in the seats and no internet you can still be entertained. Books are great, magazines are fun, but for me on a flight if I wish to not get exhausted I need something a bit more interactive and this game is perfect for that.
If you like adventure games, then this is one of the best that is available in the AppStore. The controls are a bit strange in that you have to move the cursor to select things instead of directly tapping on the object of interest. But once you get the hang of the controls, you'll be immersed for hours in the plot.
