Eye Candy & Grinding through it

With smooth animations, lush visuals and a well produced soundtrack, Twin Blades is attractive at first glance. The zombies are hilarious.

Bosses are desperately hard to kill so the game seems to reward repetitive button mashing, if anything (you need to level up, improve your weapons, ... until you can even kill 1 boss). In other words, it doesn't seem possible to complete the game without playing the same stages over and over.

I guess it's good if you want to spend hours slicing, burning and shooting zombies. Beyond that, I don't see much to this game. The scenes are well drawn but there is no exploration involved, the stage seems to loop over itself automatically after a while. A finger appears on the screen, pointing left or right to indicate where to find more zombies to kill.

I guess I would have a more favorable impression if the game wasn't designed to have me repeatedly play the same stages over and over without actually learning or discovering anything.
