ever had a 3 hour back and forth email dance with someone trying to figure out when you are both free to have lunch or for a phone conference? Tungle.me solves this problem. The mobile app is a seamless integration with the feature rich website that solves one simple problem--- scheduling meetings with someone. Love this app! If someone says "let's go to lunch" I can easily send them my Tungle.me link and they can pick the day and time.

Best part about this app is that it syncs with Google calendar.

Otherwise, I find it useful except that I think with all calendar and scheduling programs/software, it's most helpful when the other people that you often schedule meetings with are on the same software - outlook, gmail, ical, etc.

Not unlike the Tungle web interface, this app leaves a bit to be desired. Worse than the web however the main usefulness of Tungle is lost on the small screen of the phone. So let’s talk a bit more about that.

Tungle is supposedly a way to share calendars with other people and schedule meetings easily. Unfortunately I’ve found it does a pretty poor job of keeping people’s schedules up to date and worse yet seems to be completely incompetent at adding anything scheduled through Tungle to a person’s outlook calendar. This means that if someone schedules something and you accept you better remember to put it on your calendar yourself or you will definitely miss your meeting. Sort of problematic no?

That said, the app can work relatively well for looking at people’s schedules and scheduling meetings OUTSIDE of Tungle. At least having access to a person’s schedule can help pick out a time that might work. And on the web interface this works great. On the phone however looking at everyone’s schedules all at once is odd, making you check each person’s schedule individually to really get an idea of what they have going on. Not very useful if you need to schedule a meeting with a number of people.

Sadly I’ve yet to find a better tool and so until I do, this will just have to do. Please feel free to leave suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
