  4. Fluent News Reader - Free Online News App for Current Events, Breaking US News and World Headlines
Fluent News Reader - Free Online News App for Current Events, Breaking US News and World Headlines Since it aggregates news sources from most of the major sites, Fluent News is a GREAT place to go for headlines, and for tech news (other categories too)
  5. Newsy for iPad - Video from Multiple Sources
Newsy for iPad - Video from Multiple Sources Newsy has short video news clips which take perspectives from different news sources. Great way to see different viewpoints.
  6. Reuters Galleries
Reuters Galleries LOVE this app. Includes photo galleries of the day and week's top photos. Amazing on the iPad.
  7. ABC News for iPad
ABC News for iPad This app has a unique interface, with a globe including small thumbnails of news photos and videos to select.
  8. Pulse News for iPad: Your News, Blog, Magazine and Social Organizer
Pulse News for iPad: Your News, Blog, Magazine and Social Organizer Created by students in the Stanford Design School, this RSS Reader connects to Google Reader but doesn't support sharing.
  9. NYTimes for iPad
NYTimes for iPad Although it's just a partial sampling of articles from the NYT, this app has a good interface and (of course) the articles are great.
  10. The Wall Street Journal.
The Wall Street Journal. I don't like the fact that many articles are locked and require a monthly subscription, but articles are good and the interface is nice also.

I was going to suggest the BBC app (great design), when I saw you had it below. It’s not a news app, but the Weather HD is gorgeous–I use it a lot, just to look at the pics! : )

BTW: I must have snuck in early enough on Flipboard that I could link to FB and Twitter–amazing. I really love it. Gives a large enough snipped of each link so you know whether you want to read the whole thing or not, and does a good job of choosing which pics to use for visual appeal!

Have to mention free ipad app:
