  1. CoderDojo
CoderDojo Free. The CoderDojo app ties together CoderDojos around the world and displays the latest images, news, tweets, and kids' coding resources from kids' coding clubs around the world. Locate the CoderDojo nearest you and maybe your kid will learn to develop their own app! Future plans for the app include creating a coding quiz section with input from the CoderDojo kids and kids' project showcase.
  2. Khan Academy: you can learn anything
Khan Academy: you can learn anything Free. Go to Science>Computer Science in this app and access videos that introduce your kids (and you?) to concepts such as variables, binary numbers, and strings.
  3. Scratch Maze
Scratch Maze .99 This app has video guides to creating a maze in Scratch, the popular visual programming language for kids from MIT.
  4. Need a monthly account to use, but for more advanced kids (and their parents!), offers excellent video lessons on everything from responsive web design to mobile app programming.
