Lohle says: I am a dad of two girls, who enjoy playing Apps on our iPad very much. I noticed that they were learning during their playtime. To understand which Apps encouraged that the most I monitored them more and that's the basis of this list.
Lohle's picks
  1. Learning to Draw is Fun - A Drawing and Coloring Game for Kids
Learning to Draw is Fun - A Drawing and Coloring Game for Kids This App is great in it's simplicity, which parent doesn't know the problem of trying to sketch a fish as example for your kid. This App learns kids to draw and prepares them at the same same time for writing. In one word great!
  2. Toca Hair Salon
Toca Hair Salon It gives kids the possibility to play with everything that has to do with clipping you hair. It's fun with great graphics and my kids even behaved better at the Hair Salon after playing this App as they understood what need to be done.
  3. Tilly's petting farm
Tilly's petting farm It's a simple but clear App about the animals on a farm, their names and the sounds they make. It isn't spectacular, but it is fun especially for toddlers. I like this one just for it's simplicity.
  4. Bo's Bedtime Story
Bo's Bedtime Story This App gives me as much fun as my kids. My kids like to play it and I like it because it stimulates them to behave better while going to bed! So its fun and educational!
  5. animalSketch
animalSketch This one I like although it's similar to number 1, but I like again the simplicity. The App does what promises and my kids love to draw and they can with this one.
  6. Alien Buddies – Preschool Learning Activities
Alien Buddies – Preschool Learning Activities This App offers 4 games for the prize of one. Kids can match things or play puzzles or draw dot-to-dot or play a sticker game. That combined with great graphics and nice music makes it a winner for my kids.
  7. Miss Spider's Bedtime Story for the iPad
Miss Spider's Bedtime Story for the iPad The graphics are incredible, the movie, the book, the game, the coloring and the puzzling are all in the same high quality fashion made. My kids love it!

Missing

Match Up is a retro style memory game where you get a grid of cards and each player flips to. If they match, they get another turn, if the tiles don't match, the other player plays. An added bonus: there are no pieces to lose like the original. ;)

Associated Apps:  Match Up, Match Up Lite

wow, cool collection. Your daughters must be loving it. I think you should show them some coloring apps as well. I have a little niece and i usually ask her to color sketches and natural objects on different apps. She loves it. i am looking forward to another app in coming soon tab, i wonder how it will gonna let kids learn things http://www.facebook.com/pages/Let-It/196303127134590
