fletchisimo's picks
  1. Spanish Word of the Day
Spanish Word of the Day Bite size nuggets to fill your spare moments. There's a simple spelling game included but you are on your own for pronuciations.
  2. Spanish Dictionary and Translator - SpanishDict
Spanish Dictionary and Translator - SpanishDict This app has audio files so you can hear how the words are pronounced. It's also predictive, so you can just type in the first few letters in either english or spanish and it gives you a list to choose from. There's a guessing game and a phrasebook included too. This app gets an A.
  3. Spanish Language Guide & Audio - World Nomads
Spanish Language Guide & Audio - World Nomads This phrase book is geared towards travelers and will definitely get you in the mood for a trip.
  4. Lonely Planet Travel Guides, Phrasebooks and Maps
Lonely Planet Travel Guides, Phrasebooks and Maps Last time I checked, this app was free and came with a guide to San Francisco and a Mexican Spanish phrase book. Go figure. They're both pretty good.
  5. Telemundo San Fco/SanJose/Oak Noticias en español
Telemundo San Fco/SanJose/Oak Noticias en español When you're ready to step it up a notch, check out Telemundo. Just make sure you have a good wifi connection. Univision has a pretty good app too.

I wish the iPhone existed when I was in high school. Spanish 2 Honors would have been much easier with these apps!

There is an app that teaches Spanish Numbers; the paid version
goes from 0 to 1000; the free version is exactly the same, but only presents 0 to 20.

I've recently made a site which you might find useful.

http://www.learnspanishalphabet.net/

It teaches the pronunciation of all the letters in the Spanish Alphabet, including variations.

As well, you'll find a link to a handy app for the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad which also
let's you practice recognizing these letters, with an enjoyable and effective quiz.

Hoping that you find these resources useful,
Sean
