jessicadally says: My friend Chris just got his first iPhone. Like all other friends I attempted to give him apps that would appeal to someone who travels a lot, rides motorcycles and bikes, needs to manage social media, blogging and the like while on the road and a few other things Chris likes to do. Here's the list I created for him. This is the second part of the app list for him. Make sure to check out part 1 as well!
Peak.ar A fun app for those who like to play outside as Chris does. Aim your phone at a mountain range and learn the names of the mountains (or even hills) around you.
Posterous Chris blogs on Posterous and now he can access his blog from his phone. Awesome!
Skype Chris does a lot of world travel and having access to cheap calling overseas when you have access to wifi is awesome. As I warned him, the sound on Skype will blank out if someone calls you which is annoying, however when overseas it's not likely something you'll have to worry about since hopefully you've remembered to turn off your imbound calling.
Instagram Take pictures, share to twitter, facebook, email, flickr, posterous, etc etc. and you can play with silly filters to make your picture more interesting if you wish. Fun for when you can't pull out the big, awesome cameras.
Map My Ride - GPS Cycling, Riding, Workout Tracking and Calorie Counter Chris is a cyclist as well and thus I sent him my favorite cycling app. For bike riding (cycling that is) this app works as a cycle computer. There's a paid version that allows you to take pictures without leaving the app and also adjust iPod settings which I enjoy for keeping the music in the background but still playing enough to motivate me.
