spirrison says: In addition to being managing editor of Appolicious, I am a news and information junkie. I can't wait until I get my hands on the iPad this Saturday and start reading all of my favorite blogs and publications on the new device. Maybe it will even give me ink stains on my hands!
spirrison's picks
  1. The Wall Street Journal - Mobile
The Wall Street Journal - Mobile Before they began charging last fall, the Wall Street Journal was the first app that i tapped into on my iPhone. On the iPad, I think it will be worth the reported $17.99 per month charge.
  2. Instapaper
Instapaper I love the fact that the developer of this $4.99 application is pushing to get the iPad app ready by Day One and will make modifications along the way. Another app that seems destined for the tablet computing.
  3. NYTimes
NYTimes I already prefer reading the New York Times on my iPhone to Kindle. With the iPad, I may finally abandon my Sunday subscription to the print edition. This is a revolution.
  4. Yahoo!
Yahoo! I love the fact that the company that really introduced me to the commercial Internet is also going to be a pioneer on the iPad. Loving what the Entertainment and Finance channels look like.
  5. Kindle – Read Books, eBooks, Magazines, Newspapers & Textbooks
Kindle – Read Books, eBooks, Magazines, Newspapers & Textbooks Beginning Saturday, there will still be a place for Kindle - on your iPad. Time will tell if the iPad is ultimately a Kindle Killer and if Amazon still elects to distribute over Apple devices. For now, why not enjoy everything Kindle has to offer, but on a superior device?
