Finding food deals can help your pocketbook, and even help you try new foods and restaurants that have never crossed your mind before. Check out these apps to find restaurants in your area that are providing limited time deals on their fare, and enjoy the local flavor!

  1. JustMealDeals
    JustMealDeals This app is a great concept! It lets you choose how far away you would like to search for deals, and what price range you are looking for ($5, $10, $15, $20) and will show you a list of the deals that fit your criteria, in your local area. Unfortunately, it says there are no deals in my area. I'm not sure what database this app is pulling from, but you should try it out in your area and see if it comes up with anything!
  2. Foodstream
    Foodstream Food stream allows you to postdeals that you find, along with those of others in your community. You are able to view deals by Food, Place, or browse pictures of food deals and pick what looks yummy!
  3. Happy Hours
    Happy Hours The Dallas Observer Happy Hours app allows you to choose your city (or it will find where you are through GPS) and show you what happy hour specials are nearby. After you check out the happy hour, you can tell the service whether you liked it, or if it was just "eh."
  4. Zip2Save Mobile - Over 100,000 coupons, deals and offers nationwide
    Zip2Save Mobile - Over 100,000 coupons, deals and offers nationwide Search for or browse merchants in your area, and pick your favorite ones to follow. Every merchant has their own deal or coupon that you can "clip" and keep track of in your account.
  5. Aloqa - Always Be A Local
    Aloqa - Always Be A Local Aloqa allows you to subscribe to different channels depending upon what category of specials you are interested in.
  6. Happy Hour Finder
    Happy Hour Finder This app allows you to view happy hour specials by checking out your local map, viewing a list of the deals around you, or check out the different specials for each day of the week.
  7. DailyBites - Pizza Deals & Promos
    DailyBites - Pizza Deals & Promos For the pizza lover in you, check out this specialized app that focuses on nothing but the best pizza deals in your area with easy access to online coupons for each individual location.

A good list, but seems to be entirely US focused. Few other examples of this type of app from other countries that are worth checking out if you are a frequent traveller - for example The Specials Board in Australia and Vouchercloud in the UK.
